In Asian direct housing, we started a project to supply full-order designer housing with excellent structure, environmental equipment, fire resistance, and durability suitable for the climate and climate of Asian countries with teachers who are active as professor architects in Japan.

Toru Irie is based in Okinawa where is warm area. Therefore, his interest is to design architecture as devises for special environments, such as strong sunlight, wind and humidity. As for laboratory, Irie lab has accepted internship students every year from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, KMITL, in Thailand.

Specializing in architectural construction methods and design, I apply my research on the material construction of buildings to activities ranging from architectural design to criticism. My theory and practice aim toward the development of an architecture rooted in a richness of detail that have been lost in the modern era. I’m the curator of the Japan Pavilion at the 17th Venice Biennale of Architecture.
My books include “Co-ownership of Action: Trajectory of Elements” (TOTO Publishing, 2020), architectural works include “Kadowaki House” (2018), and awards include the Annual Architectural Design Commendation from the Architectural Institute of Japan (2020).
